Recommended by the Legal 500 as “experienced, compassionate and efficient”, Neil is a vastly experienced practitioner who has specialised in private client work including wills, powers of attorney, estate administration and conveyancing throughout his career spanning over 40 years.
Neil deals with a variety of work from advising individuals and executors in relation to high-value estates including inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning to advising the elderly in connection with asset protection and issues of capacity. Neil is also a court-appointed financial guardian, having been asked to assume the role by a local authority.
Neil has also acted as adviser in relation to a number of family trusts for several decades and provides advice in relation to the creation and use of trusts for asset protection and tax planning purposes.
Neil was the Clerk to the Incorporation of Skinners & Glovers of Glasgow, which celebrated its 500th Anniversary in 2016, for over 30 years before his retirement from that role in 2018.
Neil’s interests include walking, sailing and skiing, and trying to play golf.
